A Day At Summer Arts

Summer Arts offers a relaxed, entertaining and educational experience through a mix of arts, culture, projects and play.

This is an example of a typical daily schedule that  we follow. It may vary according to museum hours.

8:30—10:00: Drop off and independent art projects, playground and game time.

10:00—mid-afternoon: Visit museums and cultural destinations, usually walking through the park (we're very close to Museum Mile) or taking a bus.

Lunch: If we're close to BWL we eat lunch in our studio. If we're out and about we find a pleasant park and picnic there.

Mid-afternoon to 5:00: Everyone works on a project related to what we saw that day. For example, after going to the Museum of Modern Art we did tessellation paintings (rhythmic repetitions of patterns).  After seeing a marionette show we split into teams; each one wrote a little skit, created hand puppets and performed the skit.

4:00: Fruit and cookies snack.

Post-project—5:00: Once each camper is satisfied with his/her project they can do an independent project, play games, go to the playground or just relax with their new friends.
